Forever us

Where it started · 2019

Sometimes, when you look back at your life, you realize that some moments that seemed ordinary at the time were actually the beginning of something much bigger.

Our story began in 2019, at her mother’s shop in Okoko. He had already been a close friend of her mum even before he met her, so visiting the shop was something he was used to. Then one day, she was there. They met. And somehow, there was something about her that caught his attention.

He remembers telling her that she looked like his wife — without knowing that the woman standing in front of him would eventually become the woman he would be preparing to spend the rest of his life with.

Chisom2019 — The Spark & A Prophetic Remark

Late in 2019, at her mother’s shop, our paths crossed. What began as light errands quickly turned into conversations that flowed with effortless ease. I’ve always appreciated depth and intellect, but in Mmachukwu, there was a calm elegance that captured my attention immediately.

I wasn’t interested in games. Looking at her with a warm, knowing smile, I spoke words that felt like a quiet prophecy:

“You look like my wife.” ✨

She laughed, delightfully surprised by my boldness. Soon after, life and university duties called her back to school. Our paths drifted naturally, yet neither of us knew that God had already planted an unshakable seed in that brief moment.

MmachukwuThe Silent Prayer & Divine Alignment

Life moved forward in its own season. During the university strike in 2022, we reconnected briefly — sharing familiar laughter and catching up, though our timing hadn’t yet fully aligned.

What Chisom never knew was that years earlier, in my quiet moments of prayer, I had specifically asked God for a man from Nnewi — drawn to their quiet confidence, industrious vision, and the noble way they carry themselves.

Looking back now, I smile at God’s quiet handwriting. He had already introduced me to the very answer to my prayers back in 2019, gently preserving both of us until the appointed season.

Chisom2025 — The Reunion & Clear Intentions

In mid-2025, after years of personal growth and maturity, God orchestrated our reunion. When she was in my area and called, I went over to see her. The moment we sat together, six years seemed to dissolve in minutes. The laughter was effortless, but the mutual depth was undeniable.

We were no longer just two young acquaintances; we were two established individuals ready for purpose. Back in 2019, I had only smiled and told her “you look like my wife” — I had never said I wanted to marry her then. But six years later, standing as a man ready for destiny, I looked directly into her eyes with full conviction and zero hesitation:

“I want to marry you.”

True to my values, I also visited her mum to speak with her with the honor and respect it deserved. I wanted everyone to know that my intentions were pure, steadfast, and ready for a lifetime.

MmachukwuDiscernment & The Gift of Peace

Hearing those words caught me in absolute, pleasant surprise! Six years earlier, he had only smiled and said “you look like my wife” — he had never said he wanted to marry me. So to have him return after six full years, look straight into my eyes with that kind of certainty, and boldly declare “I want to marry you” was both astonishing and deeply flattering.

His boldness and respect spoke volumes. Seeing how honorably he approached me — and the high respect with which he went to speak with my mother — proved the caliber of man he had become.

A woman of grace doesn’t rush destiny. I took his intentions to God in prayer. And with every prayer, God transformed that sweet surprise into an unshakable peace. I saw a man of strength, character, and genuine devotion — a king I could proudly honor, cherish, and walk beside for the rest of my days.

ChisomAugust 1, 2025 — The Sacred YES

She said YES

Surrounded by prayer, patience, and purpose, she looked into my eyes and gave me her heartfelt YES.

That moment was priceless. It wasn’t rushed; it was a deliberate choice between two people who took the time to grow, pray, and truly choose one another. The woman I had seen in 2019 and prophetically called my wife had now chosen to walk into our destiny together.

ChisomAugust – November 2025 — Tested by Fire, Anchored in Love
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you. When you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.” — Isaiah 43:2

August 2025 brought the immense joy of her sacred YES. Yet life was preparing me for a season that would test my resilience to the very core. True manhood and leadership are not only measured in celebrations, but in how firmly a man stands when the storm arrives.

On October 1, 2025, I was faced with the most painful day of my life: the passing of my beloved father. The heartbreak ran deep, and the responsibility of stepping forward to honor his legacy was immense. By God’s grace, fortitude, and wisdom, I laid my father to rest with great honor and dignity in November of that same year.

Throughout those demanding hours, God revealed why Mmachukwu was divinely chosen for my journey. She became my rock of peace, my prayer warrior, and my tireless strength. She held my hand through the tears, breathed courage into my spirit, and stood beside me with the unwavering loyalty of a true queen. She proved not only to be the love of my life, but the woman God ordained to conquer life beside me.

TogetherDecember 2025 – 2nd January 2027 — Two Families, One Divine Accord
“He has made everything beautiful in its time.” — Ecclesiastes 3:11
“Can two walk together, except they be agreed?” — Amos 3:3

In December 2025, my intentions were formally made official with her family. Bringing two distinguished households together was a sacred assignment, and it naturally called for patience and mutual resolve. Between honoring rich traditions, aligning expectations, and navigating the delicate process of setting the wedding date, our maturity and commitment were put to the test.

Yet, love, respect, and prayer took the lead. We refused to let hurdles distract us from the greater purpose. With God’s guidance and deep respect on both sides, patience prevailed, and every conversation brought greater clarity.

Both the Mkparu and Igweokpala families arrived at a joyous, unanimous agreement, locking hands on the divinely appointed date: January 2, 2027. What was tried in patience emerged as pure gold—a victory of unity, honor, and generational blessing.

TogetherWritten by God — Our Eternal Covenant
“Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.” — 1 Corinthians 13:7–8

Our story is not about two people who rushed; it is about God’s master choreography. Two lives that met, matured in separate chapters, weathered life’s deepest trials side by side, and emerged victorious to build an unshakeable legacy.

On January 2, 2027, the seed planted in 2019 and protected through every season blossoms into an eternal covenant.

Sometimes God lets you cross paths with someone before either of you is ready. Sometimes life sends seasons of refining fire to test devotion, build character, and anchor faith. And what looks like an ordinary encounter at the beginning is actually the unfolding of a covenant God had already written in eternity.

From an ordinary afternoon at her mother’s shop in Okoko in 2019…

To a quiet word spoken in faith: “You look like my wife”…

To years of personal growth, perseverance, and divine preparation…

To August 1, 2025, when she proudly spoke her sacred YES…

Through grief, fortitude, and standing strong to honor a beloved father…

Through family alignments and prayer that brought two houses into joyous harmony…

To January 2, 2027: where two families celebrate as one, and our forever officially begins. ❤️

Thank God for our story. Thank God for the trials that revealed our strength. Thank God for bringing us through every valley into victory.
We step forward with heads held high, hearts united, and full confidence in the God who orchestrates all things.
By God’s grace, our covenant begins now. ❤️

“Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”
